Tabuk City bags 14 medals in 2024 Kickboxing National Championships

Tabuk City, Kalinga – There is really no stopping the young fighters in Tabuk City from winning in combative sports, hauling 14 new additional medals and placing third in a national competition.

 

From September 8 – 14, 19 athletes from Tabuk City competed in the 2024 National Kickboxing Championship at the Tagaytay Combat Sports Center. The competition was attended by 283 athletes from 35 cities and provinces in the Philippines.

 

In the 6-day event, the team from Tabuk City coached by Erwin Tagure, Thea Shivonne Tombali, and Ronald Baculi of Tribu Banwar and Jude and Justine Saclag of the Superfoot Gym collected a total of 14 medals – 7 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze.

 

The gold medalists are Ryan James Banisal, Randolf Sanchez Buelta, Ariane Bulwayan, Alexander Tagure(Best Male Kickboxer Junior Category), Alester Tagure, Darius Onsal, and Enrile Amangao.

 

The silver medalists, meantime, are AJ Oliveros Aj Angelo, Shakespeare Bacacao, Kim Estacio, and Wilbrain Long-od while the bronze are Lorraine Buslig, jhanaigh Matalang, and Avril Keith Lawad. Other players who represented the city include Aldwin Bang as, Vira Leigh Buslig, and Jaspher Buelta.

 

The medal haul placed Tabuk City 3rd in the overall champion ranking.

 

After the national kickboxing, the team, as mentioned by Coach Erwin Tagure, will be preparing for the Batang Pinoy competition this coming November and the Muay Thai national championships in December.
