Tanudan, Kalinga―Incoming travelers will no longer need to present travel passes and medical certificates upon entry in and exit from the municipality, said Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag.

This is in support to the announcement of Malacañang that it is no longer mandatory for travelers to present travel authority neither undergo CoViD-19 testing and quarantine in isolation units unless situations require.

Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag said that upon entering the province, individuals shall be checked for possible symptoms of the CoViD-19 through the booth established by the provincial government at the Talaca checkpoint.

“Agsina gamin ti ayan ti province ken (Tabuk) City dita Talaca checkpoint, dagiti taga Tanudan nga sumangpet wenno ag- exit mapan da pay idiay provincial government booth. Idiay da nga i-check suda nu adda symptoms. Ngem nu awan mabalin nga (mang-check), pasereken mi isuda ken dakamin tu met ti mang-monitor tuy munisipyo,” he said.

Furthermore, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Sandra Glynn Valledor said that there is a need for continuous reminders of the threat brought by the virus to avoid sending a wrong message to the constituents who may take things for granted with the easing of protocols.

“We must be more vigilant as a community. The government is giving us, the people, the responsibility to be more health conscious and observe the minimum health protocols more since hindi na mandatory ang quarantine and testing and we have no way of telling na covid-free yung mga tao especially kung asymptomatic sila,” she said.

Valledor added that returning residents shall undergo strict home quarantine and shall be subjected to RT-PCR testing on the 5th day after their arrival.

“Ti inkasta mi kadagiyay ummay ket pinaki usapan mi isuda nga home quarantine pero sa 5th day, ma-swab da latta. Kung symptomatic sila upon arrival, as assessed ng mga Health workers sa RHU/BHS, rapid test ang gagawin sa kanila. Kung positive, swab for RT-PCR with supportive treatment, pero kung negative, supportive treatment lang,” she said.

The municipal government is following the National IATF guidelines while waiting for further updates of the guidelines from the Municipal Local Government Operations Office as well as the issuance of the unified protocols from the provincial government.
