Tanudan LGU to grant financial assistance to scholars


Tanudan, Kalinga - 62 students from this town will be benefiting from the PhP500,000 financial assistance from the Local Government Unit (LGU) Scholarship Program under the administration of Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag.


Municipal Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Efrenio Tomolnoc said the scholarship program that was established in 2010 through an ordinance, was designed to support economically challenged but deserving college students from the municipality.

Under the program, scholars are entitled of PhP4,000 each semester and with a counterpart of participating in a Tree Planting activity once or twice a year.

He added that the LGU has once again opened the application to reach the target of 100 beneficiaries.


However, the qualified applicants shall be on the waiting list, since the fund is still being processed to be sourced out from the Supplemental Budget.


Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag encouraged the students to study well and use the assistance as an inspiration to finish their schooling.

“Dagiti nagiskwela met idi ket nagrigat idi ta awan ti libre, so tatta a libre ti government schools, adda pay dagitoy scholarship program tayo sapay kuma ta ipapati da tapno makaturpus da. Haan da koma sayangen dayta inted ti munisipyo nga opportunidad kanya da, agyaman da ken aramiden da ketdi nga inspirasyon ti pamilya da,” he said.


Meantime, an orientation for all Tanudan LGU scholar-beneficiaries is set on March 18 to be held at the RHU-Compound in Seet, Mabaca, Tanudan.
