Tanudan, Kalinga – The Tanudan Municipal Hospital will temporarily accept and attend to emergency cases only after its staff were exposed to a Covid-19 patient.

In an advisory, the municipal hospital said that one of their patients who was admitted has tested positive with Covid-19 together with her watcher. This, they wrote, exposed all the staff on duty and made them close contacts.

All the staff will be swabbed on Monday, October 11.

With this development, the outpatient department consultations and regular ward admissions were temporarily suspended.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will only cater to Emergency Cases until further notice. NO OPD CONSULTATIONS AND REGULAR WARD ADMISSIONS for the meantime,” the advisory stated.

The Tanudan Municipal Hospital appeals to the public to continue observing the minimum health protocols at all times.

Meanwhile, on October 7, the Department of Pediatrics in Kalinga Provincial Hospital has also been closed for any admissions, referrals, out-patient consultations, and follow-ups until further notice due to the ‘alarming number’ of staff in the department who were infected with Covid-19 and are now on quarantine.
