Tanudan official tells parents: be good examples to children

Updated: Nov 25, 2022

Tanudan, Kalinga – Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Lucas Ating emphasized that parents should set good examples for their kids as children imitate the people around them.

Ating made this statement during the Children’s Month celebration at the Davidson Hotel on November 21, 2022. The event was participated by parents, teachers, and children from daycare to high school in Tanudan.

In his message, he expressed that parents have a huge role in shaping their children to become better people, as well as preparing them to become nation builders.

Ating quoted Proverbs 22:6 which says, “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” With this, he said, children should be well guided by their parents and the people surrounding them.

“So, nu anya dagiay nakitkita dagiay ubbing, naisur-suro, nagnangngeg da ket isun tu iti aw-awiten da aginggana dumakkel da. So kuna na ditoy, haan dan tu nga ma-depart from it. Isun tu iti kasla character da wennu personalidad da,” he conveyed.

As for the participants of the event, the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer also left them with a reminder, saying, “always remember that you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and twice as beautiful as you never imagine.”
