“...tayo'y maglingkod ng tapat. Haan tayo agpapaapekto iti mangmangyari nga problema iti gobyerno itatta” - Mayor Garde during 125th PCSA launching in Apayao

Luna,Apayao- During the annual observance of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) in Luna, Apayao, Mayor Januario Garde took the time to encourage government workers amid the barage of criticisms against government officials on issues of corruption and ghost projects in the country.

Garde, during the kick off program of the month-long event at BGVJR Memorial Sports Center Luna Apayao this September 15, 2025,  emphasized the dedication of many government employees now being tainted with issues and controversies because of the mistakes of some.

The Mayor of Luna, in his talk, motivated the government workers, saying, "Ammok nga datayo amin nga kawani iti gobyerno ket addaan tayo iti puso, isip ken gaget tapno iti kasta maipakita tayo iti tattao ditoy nga kailyan tayo  nga datayo nga public servants ket ammo tayo iti agserbi para kanyada."

Under the overarching theme of the PCSA "Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal at Galing sa Bayan," Garde reminded those participating in the launch the patriotism, integrity, and excellence of the government workforce in contributing to national progress. 

"Ket daytoy kuma iti kanayun tayo nga itugot iti bagbagi tayo, we are still proud that we are part of the Government, tayo'y maglingkod ng tapat. Haan tayo kuma nga agpapaapekto iti mangmangyari nga problema iti gobyerno itatta. Amin tayo nga agency dapat taas noo tayong maglingkod sa mga kababayan natin dito sa Apayao. Ikari tayo iti bagbagi tayo that we could stand with all of these problems by showing to the yApayos that we can serve them  well," underscored the Mayor.

Meantime, Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., echoed the same sentiment, urging public servants to uphold integrity and combat corruption.

We've been lauded, we've been awarded nagado iti awards tayon from the National government to regional office ken amin nga NLAs ket they have their own  honor, integrity that they can present to our people. Dakkel iti tiwalak iti tunggal maysa kanya yu dakayo nga adda ditoy gobyerno. Naragsak nak a kas governor yu nga mangirepresent iti probinsiya tayogapo iti pinagtitinnulong tayo. Aggapo kuma iti puso tayo dagiti trabaho nga ited tayo iti tattao,” said Governor Bulut.

The month-long celebration aims to strengthen camaraderie and sportsmanship among employees.

In the Province of Apayao, competitions such as basketball, volleyball, and choral competition provide opportunities for teamwork and friendly contest to government workers. 

The skills and values gained during these activities, according to the organizers, are expected to enhance their performance and dedication in their respective roles as public servants.
