A 19 year-old mom is appealing for help, for her eight-month old son who’s now fighting for his life in a hospital in Tabuk City.

Shynne Aira Sannadan laments that as a young mother, seeing her son in a hospital fighting for his life during his first year in life is heart-wrenching. She wishes she were the one bearing all the pain instead of her son. But said, she has to stay strong since she could never give up on him.

“Adda diay time nga in give-up ko ni baby ken Lord idi first night mi ditoy [hospital] ta nakitak a marigatan suna, ngem di nakitak a lumaban isuna, lumabanak met nga ina ta ammuk a nu anya ti rigat ko, mas marigrigatan diay anak ko,” Shynne Aira expressed in an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, as she watches her son sleeping.

Shynne’s son, baby Brion, has been in the hospital for almost two weeks already. He was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis and pneumonia.

According to Shynne, it all started with a fever on April 13 then after two days, he was rushed to the hospital where he was first diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. She was informed that this is the most serious type of meningitis.

“Ma'am, ti Bacterial Meningitis ket infection ti utek a mang apektar idiay half body ni baby, diay right body na, isunga haan na unay i-open diay mata na,” she relates to this writer, adding that later on during their stay at the hospital, Brion also developed pneumonia.

As of today, April 27, Shynne said that Brion can already move his body and his left eye already opened. However, his infected eye remains closed.

“Nu ag-stable isuna, nu fully awake isuna kailangan mi isuna ipa-check ti neurologist, kailangan ma i-pacheck ti hearing, speaking na ta baka haan makasao, [tapos diay] half body na ta baka ma-paralized,” she said.

Watching her baby go through these difficulties made her think and ask lots of questions to the point of blaming herself.

“Nagsakit ma'am nagadu questions ti utek ko, sangit kada danag ti kanayun marikna ngem daytoy puyat kada bannug ko haan ko pulos marikna. Nu maminsan pabasulek ti bagik, damagek ti bagik ‘pabaya nak ba nga ina, apay kastoy diay anak ko, apay diay anak ko paylang haan paylang a siyak’,” she expressed.

“Amin a sakit ken rigat ko di naganak nak, naawan di nakitak isuna,” – Shynne

When she gave birth to Brion on August 28, 2020, she recalls being overwhelmed with fear and worry, since her baby was already over due because she should have given birth on August 11. But with the support of her partner, she managed to overcome her 12-hour forced labor ordeal. She graduated from senior high school at that time.

She endured these painful hours of labor, but the moment she held her son, maternal instinct set in and the pain and difficulties instantly vanished, Shynne vividly recalls.

“Amin a sakit ken rigat ko di naganak nak, naawan di nakitak isuna, nasukatan ti ragsak amin amin. I feel so blessed di nakitak ken naiggemak isuna,” she recalled.

She added that her partner is a responsible father and that just after finding out that she’s pregnant, he took her with him, “mismo isuna nangibaga nga inayat ko sika a sibubuo isunga ayatek met dayta anak ta higit pay ti biyag ko,” she said.

Partial hospital bill now at P90K

Shynne’s partner is a security guard at the JVA hospital in Bulanao and she was supposed to enter college but given their situation, she had to put her studies on hold for the meantime. She said that they do not have other source of income aside from her partner’s salary.

She also expressed gratitude to those who has been helping her son with their donations and help.

As of today, their partial hospital bill is already at P90,737.21, and she is again appealing for those who wish to help pay the hospital bills and conduct of further tests when Brion becomes stable. Shynne could be reached through cellular number 09355614185.

Also, if anyone wants to donate through GCash, they may send to Shynne’s sister Diana Ruth Bulawit with GCash number: 09151588552.
