Poblacion, Balbalan – The 4th Padalang celebration, now regarded as one of the municipality’s most cherished traditions, officially ushered in the Christmas season this December at the Municipal Hall of Balbalan, with Vice Mayor Regina Munda Cruz urging the community to remember the true meaning of the holidays—unity, generosity, and love for one another.

The municipality of Balbalan lit up as the lighting ceremony commenced, transforming the area into a festive scene where residents, families, and visitors gathered—filling the town with excitement as the annual event once again brought together people from all barangays.

In her message, Vice Mayor Regina Munda Cruz highlighted how the community’s collective efforts have strengthened the event’s significance over the years. She emphasized Padalang’s importance in fostering unity and called on residents to reflect on the true essence of Christmas.

“The 4th Padalang, or grand pailaw celebration, has become one of Balbalan’s most cherished traditions. This dazzling and most awaited event marks the official start of our Christmas season—filling our community with light, hope, and a spirit of togetherness. May we all be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas, which is unity, generosity, and love for one another,” she said.

The vice mayor also expressed hope that the Padalang celebration will continue to grow in the years ahead, serving not only as the kickoff to the Christmas season but also as a reminder that the spirit of Christmas endures even in difficult times.

“May this night of brilliance inspire us to carry the warmth of Christmas into our homes, our workplaces, and our community. May the light that we will soon witness remind us that even in the busiest and darkest moments, the spirit of Christmas continues to shine within us,” she expressed.

Munda Cruz also extended her gratitude to Mayor Almar Malannag for his guidance, as well as to the municipal staff, uniformed personnel, and everyone who helped bring the light of Padalang to life.
