Tinglayan LGU procures P2.6M medical supplies to ensure availability of medicines for residents

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Tinglayan LGU recently procured medical supplies for its Rural Health Unit to ensure sufficient medicines will be available to the residents in case they need them.

The Municipal Local Government Unit said this October 9 that the RHU now has over P2.6 million worth of medical supplies.

Mayor Charles Abay, in his commitment to transparency, accountability, and adherence to due process, said that apart from reporting to the people their procurement, the LGU under his administration also announced that the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) chaired by Denber Poliwos Alngag received bid documents for the buying of medicines for the RHU Tinglayan for the second semester of 2025.

North Point Pharma and Medical Supplies Trading based in Tuguegarao City was the lone company to submit bid documents ahead of the deadline on October 1. Approved budget for the contract is ₱1,518,300.00 for Ref. No. 12391462 and ₱1,146,707.00 for Ref. No. 12390857.

Mayor Abay, in a statement, affirmed the LGUs commitment to following due process and to letting the public be informed in the bidding process in the municipality to ensure transparency and good governance.

“Dagitoy nga bidding process ket ipakita tayo kadagiti publiko tapnu aware da nu ayan na iti mapmapanan iti pondo nga nagapu met lang kadagiti tax da. Ken daytoy i-procure tayo nga ag-agas met laeng ket to make sure nga adda iti naan-anay nga medical supplies idiay RHU tayo for the rest of the year,” he said.

By mentioning the name of the company that wins the bidding, Abay said the people will be informed of who supplies the medicines, which will strengthen accountability on the part of the supplier.
