Tinglayan, Kalinga – The Local Government of Tinglayan is now halfway on their assessment monitoring for the ecological solid waste management contest and is set to announce winning barangays at their Christmas party this December.

“Bale adda dan iti second monitoring. Dagidiay inala da ket dagidiay top 5 ti apan da ngay kitaen para idiay monitoring, isu ti papanan da. Nagrugi idi last week ta inlast da ti Dananao [for first monitoring]. Bale next week ket ipalpas da ti second monitoring,” Municipal Information Officer Larae Lactao relayed.

The first round of assessment started last month in which 60 percent of the overall score will be drawn from, while the second round where 40% of the score will be derived.

The Local Government, as recalled, has resumed its contested activities promoting ecological solid waste management in the municipality and shall give prizes amounting to P460,000 in the form of projects to its winners.

Activities include the Search for Healthy Barangay, Healthy Household, and Green Hand Innovation, which were all canceled last year due to the pandemic.

“The search is our means to strengthen our Pumer-asan program to make sure that our programs on health and sanitation are being implemented in the barangay. We believe the search will be a motivation for our people in the barangay to perform well in health and sanitation,” Mayor Sacrament Gumilab previously said in a statement.

The constituents were likewise encouraged by the mayor to cooperate and dedicate their time to the search, as this will not only give them projects but would also give them a lot of benefits, particularly for the preservation of their health.

“The most important one is sickness and diseases will be prevented with these efforts,” he underscored.
