Tuguegarao City, Cagayan―With the continuous increase in CoViD-19 active cases, Mayor Jefferson Soriano, through an executive order, extended the imposition of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the city until April 12, 2021.

As recalled, the mayor issued an earlier Executive Order citing that ECQ status would be extended in case it fails to reduce the number of CoViD-19 active cases.

Despite the 6-day lockdown, the number of infected individuals rose creating fear among the residents.

Data from the City Health Office, reveals that the city has 708 active cases which is the highest recorded in the city since the pandemic.

Of the said number, 39 new cases were added, 15 recovered, while one death recorded as of April 05.

Through the Executive Order No. 55 series of 2021, an additional four days extension of ECQ status shall be imposed to help curb the continuous worsening spread of the virus.

Simultaneously, a continuous encouragement of the city government on the strict adherence of health protocols and rules is strictly enforced.
