Vice Gov. Odiem assures thorough review of resolutions, ordinances passed by SP Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Vice Governor Dave Odiem assured that members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will continuously provide services amidst the pandemic and that they are thoroughly reviewing all the resolutions and ordinances being approved and passed by the august body.


During the flag-raising ceremony this August 2, Odiem recognized the efforts of the government employees, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and Governor Ferdinand Tubban for they did not stop working and rendering public service despite the restrictions due to Covid-19, “amin kayo, amin tayo ket frontliners,” he stressed.

On the part of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, he said that they have been conducting their regular sessions to discuss and review matters as well as to pass ordinances and resolutions.


“Kanayun tayo nga ag-session tapnu ma-addressan dagitoy kasapulan a maaksyonan. Amin nga ordinances, resolutions nga inpasa tayo ket inadal nga ustu dagitoy kakadwa tayo a board members. Dakkel ti pagyamanak ta napintas ti relasyon ti maysa ken maysa idiay SP, ken napintas ti relasyon tayo met lang ti executive tayo,” he said.

The SP members recently decided to conduct regular sessions in the different municipalities, and they have been doing this since July 13.


Odiem said that the move aims to bring the services of the SP closer to the local government units. He added that they had been planning to visit the municipalities earlier, but was delayed due to the pandemic.

Meantime, the SP Kalinga is continuously coordinating with the SP Mountain Province for the possible resolution of the Butbut-Betwagan tribal conflict. Odiem also thanked the Butbut-Betwagan Peace Task Force for their efforts in restoring the peace pact of the two warring tribes.
