Vice Gov. Odiem lauds IPMRs’ peace efforts

Tabuk City, Kalinga―Vice Governor Dave Odiem underscored the substantial contributions of the Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) on resolving disputes among the different tribes in Kalinga.


During the Kalinga Indigenous Peoples Legislators Organization (KIPLO) General Assembly held on July 12, the Vice Governor expressed his appreciation on the presence of the provincial officials together with the various Municipal IPMRS and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) to discuss the plans and programs to be undertaken.


Odiem conveyed that there was no reported clogging of cases in court on the account of the IMPRs’ active support and prompt deliberation and resolution of cases in their localities.


“Napintas daytoy nga contributions tayo, actually awan ti clogging ti cases iti court gapo iti tultulong yu nangnangruna kadakayo nga elders tayo,” he remarked.

“Ti prob-problema tayo ti boundary disputes ken ti am amin a krimen ket babaen daytoy tultulong yu nga elders ket masolsolbar daytoy a haan a masapol dumanun iti korte,” Odiem added.


Furthermore, he avowed that the Office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan shall continue to work on the proposed ordinances and programs aiming for the betterment of the province.


“Dagiyay nga ordinansa a maar-aramid, icon-consider tayo ket diyay ti pang-paneknek a ti Sangguniang Panlalawigan ti probinsya ti Kalinga ket i-recognize na dagiti efforts yu nga ar- aramiden yu para ti pagsyaatan ti probinsya,” he said.


Odiem then encouraged the participants to maintain the unceasing unity to be able to strategize and implement the necessary policies in the province of Kalinga.
