TABUK CITY, Kalinga — Government employees in Kalinga are set to trade their usual office attire for the runway as the Grand Runway of Government Employees takes center stage in the culminating activities of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) this month.

The Office of the Provincial Human Resource Management Officer (OPHRMO) has finalized preparations for the remaining PCSA activities following its final general meeting on September 15 at the New Conference Hall in Bulanao, bringing together representatives from various provincial government offices.

The meeting focused on reviewing preparations, aligning responsibilities and ensuring the smooth implementation of the remaining activities.

Among the most anticipated events is the Grand Runway, which will showcase government employees in an activity highlighting camaraderie, creativity and talent.

During the meeting, OPHRMO’s Shawn Barilla presented the program flow and discussed the dress code for the runway.

Organizers initially proposed different attire based on clusters and agencies, but later agreed that participants would wear outfits incorporating Kalinga-woven accents, adding a local touch to the event.

Another major highlight is the Araw ng Parangal, which will recognize outstanding local government units and employees for their accomplishments and contributions to public service.

The remaining activities will begin with the GANDAng HR Career Opportunity Fair on September 17–18 at the Kalinga Sports Center.

This will be followed by the GANDAng HR Convergence Fun Run on September 18, with participants running from the Kalinga Sports Center to Callagdao through the Bulanao-Bulo Arc before returning to the sports center.

The GANDAng HR Life Saver’s Day (Blood Donation Drive) is scheduled for September 21 at the Kalinga Sports Center, while the GANDAng HR Green Legacy will be held on September 25 in Callagdao, Tabuk City.

The activities are designed to promote health and wellness, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, professional development and stronger camaraderie among government employees.

Meanwhile, the 126th PCSA Governor’s Cup Championship Games will be held on September 28, featuring women’s volleyball at the Kalinga Sports Center and men’s basketball at the Bulanao Covered Court.

The monthlong celebration will culminate on September 30 at the Kalinga Sports Center with the 126th PCSA Closing Program, where government employees will gather for the final activities.

The annual PCSA celebration recognizes the role of the public workforce while promoting professionalism, wellness, teamwork and commitment to public service.

For Kalinga, the series of activities also provides government employees an opportunity to strengthen workplace camaraderie while reaffirming their commitment to delivering responsive services to the people.
