yKalinga kickboxer Saclag wins semi-finals, fights for gold in 31st SEA Games

Tabuk City, Kalinga – yKalinga kickboxer Jean Claude “The Dynamite” Saclag is eyeing to grab the gold medal during the 31st Southeast Asian games after winning his semifinal bout on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam.


Saclag, the reigning gold medalist in the men’s -63.5kg division, is from Lubuagan, Kalinga and a Mixed Martial Arts practitioner with Team Lakay.


The 27-year-old kickboxer won against Vu Truong Giang of the host country in the men’s low kick -63.5kg category.

With his win, he is now assured of the silver medal but he is now determined to go for the gold medal in his match this Wednesday.


Saclag is among the 12 Outstanding yKalingas awarded by the provincial government during the celebration of the 27th Kalinga Founding Anniversary on February 14.


He was given a plaque, P50,000 cash incentive and a token by the PLGU in recognition for bringing pride and honor to the province, for being a Gold Medalist in Kickboxing at the SEA Games 2019.
