Youth VIOLENCE in Tuba, Benguet: High school student attacked by gang of six

Tuba, Benguet - A grade 8 student in Tuba, Benguet, was hospitalized after he was beaten by a gang of six young people on July 8, 2025.  

A video that captured the incident is now circulating online, showing the victim being ganged up on and physically assaulted by a group of teenagers.  

The incident gained attention after it was reported this July 12 when a concerned citizen forwarded the footage to Bombo Radyo - Baguio.  

In the video, the suspects can be seen punching the grade 8 student fast and with force, while he was trying to shield himself from the blows.

Minutes later, a man in a red shirt, said to be a driver, came to stop the beating. The driver was able to stop the attack and confront the suspects until they left the area.

The incident was mentioned to have happened in Barangay Poblacion, Tuba.  

Initial information obtained by the said media outlet revealed that the victim was immediately brought to the hospital and is now reportedly traumatized and hesitant to return to school.  

The identities of the victim and those who ganged up on him are not yet publicly available.  

Guru Press Cordillera reached out to the Tuba Municipal Station to know more about the incident and the actions they are undertaking following the incident, but they have no response as of this writing.
