1 dead, 12 injured after PUJ fell into a ravine in Tanudan

Tanudan, Kalinga—A teenager died while 12 other individuals were injured after a public utility jeep fell in a 5-meter ravine along the Tanudan–Banaue national road in Maraggob, Dupligan, Tanudan on Monday afternoon, July 5.


Officer in Charge of Tanudan Police Station Police Lieutenant Florand Sim said the public utility vehicle was ferrying his passengers from Tabuk around 3 o’clock in the afternoon and was heading towards Bawak when the incident took place.


In an initial investigation, it was found that the jeep was at the ascending portion in Maraggob, Dupligan when the vehicle lost brake and moved backward until it fell into the ravine.

The casualty, who was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, was identified as Jandy Bulawit Gallamoy, 16, resident of Barangay Dupligan, Tanudan.


Meantime, the injured individuals were:


1. Luz Go-uban Bakasi, 35 years old, resident of Sitio Bawak, Brgy. Dupligan

2. Shanica Calubat Carbonel, 9, resident of Dupligan.

3. Emalyn Victory Batang-ay, 18, resident of Brgy. Pangol

4. Geraldine Calubat Carbonel, 36, resident Brgy. Pangol

5. Shania Keith Carbonel y Calubat, 9, resident of Brgy. pangol

6. Mariel Reyes Samoy, 21, resident of Brgy. Pangol

7. Marquin hill Kibang, 3, resident of Brgy. Pangol

8. Meah Fe Manggat y Songday, 18, resident of Sitio Bawak, Brgy. Pangol

9. Anacita Dalili Ang-Ang, 77, resident of Barangay Dupligan

10. Claudine Sanad Gallamoy, 21, resident Brgy. Dupligan

11. Shyleen Kyrie Calubat Carbonel, 4, resident of Barangay Dupligan

12. Frank De-eg Magalim, 15, resident of Brgy. Pangol


The wounded victims were rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital and Almora General Hospital. The incident is still under investigation.
