10th KAPE FESTIVAL: 16 Barangays in Tanudan, Kalinga compete for weeklong 2025 Mayor’s Cup

Tanudan, Kalinga – Solidifying bond and camaraderie, the 16 different barangays in Tanudan participate in the weeklong Mayor’s Cup, a volleyball and basketball tournament, from June 12 – 15, 2025.

The Mayor’s Cup which serves as an inter-barangay friendship competition is among the highlights of the 10th Kape Festival and 62nd Tanudan Founding Anniversary in Banagao, Poblacion this month.

The sporting event has been adapted as an annual activity in the municipality to provide an avenue for the iTanudans to exercise their skills in sports and to give them the platform to develop friendship with those from other communities.

“Isu nga every year ti Mayor's Cup tayo ta kayat ko nga ma-develop dagiti talents yu kada umadu ti am-ammu ta or maging friends ta kada maadal kas kuma ti disiplina ti sarili tapnu mai-adayo kayo kadagiti madi nga aramid ken bisyo,” Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag expressed as relayed by Executive Assistant and Designate Information Officer, John Ryan Awingan. 

The mayor likewise added that the event is also for the youth whom he encourages to take part in sports especially when they are passionate of it, adding that what he wants is for the young people of Tanudan to grow and succeed in life and have a better future.
