Pasil, Kalinga – Out of the overall 7,212 registered voters for the May 09, 2022 polls in the Municipality of Pasil, a total of 164 have been manually crossed out by the local Commission on Election.

Pasil Election Officer Abe Baawa reported in a local radio program aired on Monday, April 18, that the removal of voters’ names from the list is a result of their Election Registration Board (ERB) Hearing held on March 14, 2022.

Baawa explained that when the Central Office of COMELEC run the automated fingerprint identification system, seven voters were detected to have been registered more than once thus, this prompted the removal of the duplicated list.

In addition, 42 registrants were found by the board to have transferred to another city or municipality.

Moreover, 80 names of individuals that were still on the voters’ list but already passed away were also crossed out. This is based on the list of those who died in the municipality furnished by the Office of the Local Civil Registrar.

Further, names of 35 local absentee voters were also deleted.

Record of COMELEC – Pasil shows that Barangay Balatoc has the highest number of registered voters with more than a thousand, followed by Cagaluan and Guina-ang.
