Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two individuals were rushed by authorities to a hospital in Tabuk City after getting injured in a multi-vehicle collision along the Provincial Road in Barangay Appas on August 25, 2022.

Based on the initial investigation of the Tabuk City police, a kulong-kulong driven by Freddie Rigaton, 44, and an elf driven by Junre Damay, 26, were coming from Bulanao (with the kulong-kulong ahead of the dump truck) when the kulong-kulong suddenly slowed down to turn left as they approach Appas Elementary School. It was then when the dump truck crashed into the vehicle.

The crash sent the kulong-kulong to the opposite lane and collided against a motorcycle driven by Efren Makiling, 37, and an ongbak driven by Freddiemar Noval, 33.

Rigaton and Makiling were rushed by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to Kalinga Provincial Hospital. Rigaton reportedly had back pain and laceration on his right leg, while Makiling suffered multiple abrasion on his right foot and pain on his right arm.

Damay and Noval were unharmed.

The dump truck, motorcycle, and ongbak were brought to Tabuk City Traffic Management Unit, while the kulong-kulong was taken to Appas Barangay Hall for temporary custody.
