Tabuk City, Kalinga – Hours since the arrest of two men in Dangoy, Lubuagan, another two individuals were caught carrying more than a million worth of suspected marijuana in Bulanao Centro this February 25, 2022.
The two suspects posed as tourists visiting Tinglayan but were later found to be included in the list of Regional Top Ten Drug Personality.
According to Lt. Col. Dinulong Tombali, Tabuk City Police Chief, the Tabuk police and other units of Kalinga Police Provincial Office with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- Kalinga flagged down around 2:30 PM a bus coming from Tinglayan after receiving information that two individuals were carrying backpacks with contrabands.
Through the drug-sniffing dog, it was confirmed that the two bags contained 10 bricks and 1 tubular believed to be marijuana worth P1,213,920.
Upon discovery of the contrabands, the two suspects identified as Limuel Alarde, 21, from Taguig City, and an 18-year-old from Depores, Parañaque, were arrested by the operatives.
Contrary to other reports, Tombali mentioned that these two are not connected to the other two men from Cagayan who were nabbed around 4:00 AM on February 25, 2022, in Sitio Dinakan in Barangay Dangoy, Lubuagan. He said that the illegal items seized from Alarde and his 18-year-old companion were supposed to be transported to Manila.
