2022 Budget of Tabuk Vice-Mayor's Office reduced to P1M, no fund for casual employees

Tabuk City, Kalinga – “Please take note that it is not only me as present vice mayor who will be affected with this “PISO BUDGET,” but also the incoming City Vice Mayor,” Vice Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-as reveals.

City Vice Mayor Dao-as on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, appealed to the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod about the proposed city budget for the FY- 2022 of the City Government of Tabuk.

The budget allotted for the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the Office of the City Vice Mayor is only 1-M pesos.

In his letter to the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Dao-as stated that the budget allocated is not sufficient for the regular operation of said office.

“Nu maaprubaran ti proposed city budget iti tawen 2022 ket katukad ti pannakaikkat dagiti casual employees iti SP-TABUK ta maawanen ti sweldo da ken kasta met a pirmi nga agkurang ti pondo ti sumarunu a bise mayor,” Dao-as said.

In May 2021, the budget proposal submitted by the Vice Mayor for inclusion in the proposed City Budget 2022 has not been considered.

Added to that Dao-as stated that the total removal of the budget allocation for the hiring of casual employees in the Sangguniang Panlungsod and providing only 1,000,000.00 pesos as the budget for Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the Office of the City Vice Mayor is tantamount to the abolishment of the said office.

Removal of allotted Budget for Casual Employees of the Sangguniang Panlungsod

The proposed budget for casual employees under the Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod has been totally removed.

In connection to this, Vice Mayor Dao-as asked for consideration of the casual employees of the Sangguniang Panlungsod who will be affected, including the casual employees of the Vice Mayor’s Office.
