Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 25-year-old man listed as one of Kalinga's most wanted individuals is now set to face a statutory rape charge following his arrest on June 15, 2026.

According to the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO), joint law enforcement operatives conducted Coplan Renga on Monday to serve a warrant of arrest against the suspect, a resident of Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City.

The accused, whose identity was withheld by authorities, was identified as the Top 5 Most Wanted Person in Kalinga for the second quarter of 2026.

Police said the suspect was the subject of a warrant of arrest for Statutory Rape issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 25 on January 19, 2026. The court recommended no bail for his temporary release.

Following his arrest, the suspect was placed under police custody before being turned over to the court that issued the warrant.

KPPO said the arrest reflects the continuing efforts of law enforcement authorities to maintain peace and order in the province.

“The successful arrest of a Provincial Top 5 Most Wanted Person reflects the steadfast dedication of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office and our partner units to upholding peace, order, and justice,” the KPPO stated.

Meanwhile, records presented by the Provincial Legal Office showed that statutory rape remains the leading gender-based violence case in Kalinga, with 16 incidents recorded as of May 31, 2026.
