28 student-athletes from Bontoc rewarded with cash incentive

Bontoc, Mt. Province – Following their remarkable feat at the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet 2024 held in Apayao, student-athletes from Bontoc did not just receive accolades but also cash incentives from the local government unit.

 

The awarding of cash incentives to the young athletes held on Monday, April 29, is made possible through Municipal Ordinance No. 381, S. 2023, which aimed at honoring their achievements, raising the flag of the capital town anew.

 

As gold medalists in their respective fields, the LGU rewarded Jeflyn Molina, Lj Dongpopen, Claynelle Bayle, and Efren Cayabas with P5,000 each.


Those who won a silver medal in their respective competitions are receiving P3,000 each, which include Emilio Faychan Jr., Edrian Vidal, Jarence Tanalteg, Althea Bomongal, Jensen Begay, Ronal Gallawen, and James Tifang.

 

Jesophat Almendral, Christy Pat-o, and Julliene Pey-agan also received the same amount for bringing out their best in Pencak Silat.


For the 14 bronze medalists, the LGU handed them cash incentives amounting to P2,000 each.

 

Said athletes include Aron Payocyoc, Ulick Patingan, Agaman Payocyoc, Justine Tipang, Roscoe Kadchao, Nicolas Baniswal, Gillian Bangdo, Agape Ngollob, Angel Fang-asan, Nicole Goyen, Raflin Lomong-0y, Tala Pangesfan, Jeaprille Pakiki and Elmer Afidchao.

 

Aside from the athletes, their coaches also received a fair share of the cash award, which equates to 10 percent of the cash incentive given to the athletes they handled.

 

Bontoc Mayor Jerome Tudlong Jr., in a message, commended not just the athletes but also their coaches for bringing pride to the municipality.

 

“Congratulations to all our athletes for their outstanding performances in the CARAA Meet! Your dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and you have made Bontoc and the entire province proud. I also want to extend my appreciation to the trainers and coaches who have tirelessly worked with our athletes, shaping them into the champions they are today,” the local executive remarked.
