3 injured in early morning motorcycle accident in Tabuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A motorcycle rider and pedestrian were rushed to the hospital after a road accident along the Kalinga-Cagayan national road in Bulanao early morning today, September 22.

In the initial investigation of the Tabuk City Traffic Management Unit, the pedestrian identified as a certain Abegail Cawas, 26, a resident of Bantay, was walking with her companion on the innermost lane of the said road around 4 o’clock in the morning when a motorcycle hit her.

The police report said the Honda XRM 15 driven by a 16-year-old resident of Naneng was coming from behind when it hit Cawas.

Due to the impact, the motorcycle lost balance, causing the driver, along with his 17-year-old back rider from Bulanao, to fall.

The pedestrian and the rider sustained injuries and were rushed by the responding police to Kalinga Provincial Hospital.

The back rider who suffered abrasion refused to seek medical attention. The pedestrian’s companion was unharmed.

Meantime, the involved motorcycle was brought to the Traffic Management Unit in Appas for temporary custody.
