3 killed in vehicle collision in Baguio City

Baguio City, Philippines – Three individuals died while 10 others were injured after three vehicles collided along the Suello Access Road at Sta. Lucia, Baguio City on Friday, April 29, 2022.


Police investigation revealed that a container van, a taxi, and a passenger van were heading towards Km. 4 when the closed van lost its brake, crashing the rear of the taxi, forcing the latter to collide with a passenger van on its path.

Among the casualties were identified as Joseph Gacias Dela Cruz, 26, the driver of the container van and Mark Alexis Abesamis, 21, a conductor. Both are residents of Upper Rock Quarry, Baguio City and a native of Nueva Ecija.


Also killed was 6-year-old Yael Rhadson Navarro.


Remains of Dela Cruz and Abesamis were already brought to BGHMC Memorial Chapel while Navarro was brought to the BGHMC morgue.

Injured were identified as Walter Sumabat Navarro, 49, driver of the passenger van; Marry Joy Navarro, 48, housewife; Drexter Navarro, 21, taxi driver; Ed Marie Dela Cruz, 28, housewife; Edilina Maris Dela Cruz, 17, student; Yhanie Gee Navarro, 11; Yhaneal Glen Navarro, 11 months old. Said individuals are already out from the hospital.

However, the other victims namely Rhangel Navarro, 30, the taxi driver, and Eda Dela Cruz, 14, who are both residents of Marcos Highway are still under observation at the hospital. Jhon Hermosa Topas from Nueva Ecija is also still at the hospital.
