3 minors drown in Cauayan fishpond

Cauayan, Isabela – Three minors aged 8, 14, and 12 died after drowning in a fishpond in Barangay Tagaran, Cauayan morning of Friday, July 21.

A circulating video of the rescue operation conducted by residents in the area showed they attempted to resuscitate the children but were unsuccessful.

The victims were even rushed to different hospitals in the city but were declared dead on arrival.

One of the parents of the kids disclosed his child only asked permission to pick cotton fruit along with his companions that day. They had no knowledge that they went to the fishpond which is under construction.

Investigation revealed they drowned while swimming in a deep part of the fish pond.

The victims were named by police as Danica May Palma Padua, 8; Angie Palma Padua, 14; and Shaina Callorina Padua, 12. They were all residents of Barangay Tagaran.
