Tabuk City, Kalinga – Four municipalities in the Province of Kalinga now have zero active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday, February 27, 2022. The Provincial Health Office reported this in its status report.

The province is one of those areas which were put under the new normal or alert level 1 from March 1 to March 15, enabling fewer restrictions and 100 percent operational capacity of establishments.

The Covid-19 free municipalities, according to Kalinga PHO, are Pasil, Lubuagan, Tinglayan and Tanudan. On the other hand, four of the 10 active COVID-19 cases in the province are from the City of Tabuk, another four from Rizal, one in Pinukpuk, and one in Balbalan.

While Provincial Health Officer Dr. Edward Tandingan is delighted with the development, he called for those unvaccinated individuals to get their dose for their protection, and those who are already fully vaccinated to receive their booster shots.

He said the community should still adhere to the minimum public health standard such as wearing of face mask and regular handwashing to maintain safety and the ‘new normal’ status of the province.
