50-yr-old forest ranger dies, another injured of electrocution in Pinukpuk, Kalinga

Pinukpuk, Kalinga – A 50-year-old woman died while another was injured following an electrocution incident at Sitio Kapanikian, Camalog, Pinukpuk on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.


The casualty worked as a forest ranger while the injured individual is a Bantay Gubat. Both are residents of Bulanao, Tabuk City.


Kalinga Police Information Officer Ruffy Manganip narrated that the two were fixing a boom barrier at the Forest Product Monitoring Station site in said area when the barrier accidentally hit a live power line, resulting in the incident.


The incident was immediately reported to the Pinukpuk police, but the two were already ferried to the Pinukpuk District Hospital by a concerned citizen before the police arrived.


One of the victims identified as Gina Asbok was pronounced dead on arrival by her attending physician.


Meantime, the other victim named as Rogilyn Dumpao, 35, was referred to the Kalinga Provincial where she is currently recuperating.
