54-yr.-old man killed, 2 others injured in Abra shooting incident

Tayum, Abra-  A shooting incident occurred at Sitio Mundok, Barangay Cabaroan in Tayum, Abra on Saturday evening, January 11, 2025, resulting in the death of a middle-aged man and injuries of two others. 

The casualty was identified by the police as Julie BallaJacquias, 54, a resident of Sitio Cabanayan, Barangay Cabaroan, Tayum.

The identities of the injured individuals, meantime, were not disclosed by the police. 

According to the police report obtained by a local media outlet, the victims were playing a dice game before the incident transpired.

At around 10:00 p.m., a man approached Jacquias and suddenly shot him. Jacquias sustained three gunshot wounds to various parts of his body resulting in his untimely demise. 

Meanwhile, the gunman, whose identity is currently being established by the authorities, immediately fled from the crime scene.

Although he did not shoot Jacquias’ companions, they still suffered injuries after they were hit by stray bullets from the shooting. The two were rushed to the hospital by the responding authorities and are now in a stable condition.

At present, further investigations are being conducted by the authorities for the arrest of the suspect and unravelling his motive behind the heinous crime
