64-year-old man who raped 3-year-old finally caught in Ifugao

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A senior citizen who is accused of raping a toddler while in a drinking session nearly a decade ago was finally arrested in Barangay Hukbong, Lagawe, Ifugao this December 13.

The 64-year-old suspect, Rudy Alano, is a resident of said barangay but listed as the number one most wanted person in Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya.

The rape case was filed against Alano allegedly happened in 2012 in Diadi, states a report by the Cagayan Provincial Information Office.

Back then, the suspect was drinking with his friend who was looking after a 3-year-old. Due to too much alcohol intake, Alano, who was said to have admitted to what he did, sexually abused the toddler.

After the incident, the suspect went to Ifugao.

According to the Police Regional Office 2, the suspect who was in hiding was arrested on December 13, through a Warrant of Arrest issued on July 22, 2013, nine years after the commission of the crime.

There was no bail recommended for the suspect who is facing Rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

Alano is expected to be brought to BJMP Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya once his commitment order is released.
