7 wounded individuals in Asipulo bolo attack now out of hospital

Asipulo, Ifugao – Seven out of the nine severely wounded victims during a bolo attack in Amduntog, Asipulo, are now discharged from hospitals.


The Asipulo Information Office relayed this on their Facebook page on Thursday, Oct. 26.

Two others, meantime, particularly those referred to the Veterans Regional Hospital, are still undergoing medical treatment.


To recall, a 5-year-old kid named by police as Franz Joe Tognaon was killed in the incident, while other victims sustained severe hack wounds in various parts of their bodies.


The other victims include Michael Tukal, Tomas Tayaban, Esperanza Tadao, Jenarize Dinamling, Melanie Tahin, Aldrick Hagada, Joselyn Tognaon, Viana Tognaon, and Austine Espiritu.


The perpetrator, meantime, was identified as Davis Bullong, an ex-convict.


His father claimed the suspect has been experiencing hallucinations, though no medical records proved whether he was mentally unstable or not.


Bullong was declared dead on arrival after he was shot in the leg to prevent him from harming more individuals.


In connection, the Local Government Unit of Asipulo provided immediate assistance to the victims’ families following the incident. A debriefing was likewise conducted for the pupils of Asipulo Central School on Oct. 23.
