80 individuals nabbed in Cagayan’s Anti-Drug Sweep; over P13M illegal drugs seized

Cagayan – Authorities arrested 80 individuals and seized over P13 million worth of illegal drugs during a sweeping anti-drug operations across Cagayan province, officials confirmed on Friday, September 26, 2025.


Said suspects are now facing criminal charges, reported by Provincial Director PCOL Mardito Anguluan during the 3rd Quarter Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and other stakeholders.


Angualuan said the series of anti-drug operations by the Cagayan Police Provincial Office (CPPO) from the month of July to September this year resulted in the capture of the suspects and the seizure of 1,225.13 grams of shabu valued at P8.3 million, 1032.30 grams of cocaine valued at P5.4 million, and 104.81 grams of marijuana with estimated cost of P12,500. The total amount is at P13,814,643 .


Earlier this year, over 400 million worth of shabu was discovered by fisherfolk off the coast of Cagayan in the month of June.


With the surge of the use of illegal drugs in the community, Anguluan calls on the PDEA and other law enforcement agencies to intensify their cooperation to put an end to the illegal drug trade and ensure those involved are brought to justice.


The authorities, during said meeting, reported another good news apart from the volume of arrested individuals involved in illegal drug trade. The office said there has been an overall decline in crime during the 3rd quarter of 2025 in the province. The index crimes which include theft, robbery, and homicide dropped by 21.59% , while non-index crimes decreased by 3.29 % compared to the same period last year.
