Santiago City, Isabela – A man in emotional distress was safely rescued after the timely intervention of patrolling police officers in the early hours of June 12, 2026, in Santiago City.

Based on the initial police investigation, as cited by a local media outlet, personnel of the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Santiago City Police Office were conducting a routine patrol at around 12:10 a.m. when they were approached by the man's sibling, who urgently sought assistance.

The sibling informed authorities that the man was experiencing a crisis and needed immediate help. Responding officers proceeded to Barangay Malvar, where they found the distressed individual.

Through calm communication and de-escalation efforts, the police were able to gain the man's trust, ensure his safety, and peacefully resolve the situation. He was later turned over to the care of his family, who were advised on the importance of continued support and monitoring.

The incident highlights the crucial role of police visibility and regular patrol operations, not only in preventing crime but also in responding to emergencies and protecting lives.

Similar rescue incidents were recorded in the Cordillera region earlier this year, where police officers successfully intervened during critical situations, demonstrating the importance of swift action and community cooperation in safeguarding individuals in crisis.

Authorities continue to encourage families and communities to remain attentive to the well-being of their loved ones and to seek professional help when someone is experiencing emotional or psychological distress.
