Abandoned 4 day-old baby found at Baguio City Cathedral; fetus discovered at Melvin Jones

Baguio City, Philippines – Authorities vow to leave no stone unturned in their investigation as they are determined to bring those responsible for leaving a newborn baby and a fetus to justice.

The helpless infants were located in separate areas of Baguio on the same day last week.

The newborn, a mere four days old, was stumbled upon by two passersby at the historic Baguio Cathedral on the evening of March 14.

Coincidentally, the remains of a fetus were found abandoned in a public restroom at Melvin Jones Grandstand, discovered just hours earlier on the same date.

CCTV footage obtained by local media from Baguio City police showed a man and a woman, carrying eco-bags, approach the cathedral at 7 PM on said date.

As they reached the pathway near the prayer room, they were seen observing at first before the man entered in the room and supposedly left what was contained in the eco-bag.

At around 7:45 in the evening, the cries of an infant was heard, leading to the discovery of the helpless baby girl by two friends.

Swiftly, she was transported to a nearby medical facility for urgent care before being entrusted to the Department of Social Welfare Office – Cordillera.

Meanwhile, the fetus, wrapped in a sando bag, was found by a restroom attendant, according to authorities.
