Aguinaldo bags awards from BFAR, DOST, DSWD for outstanding contribution, improvement

Aguinaldo, Ifugao – With the dedication of Mayor Gaspar Chilagan Jr., Aguinaldo town has been reaping rewards for its significant contribution and improvement.

Chilagan, a progressive leader who focuses on the development and growth of his people, and his administration were proud to present before the public their accolades they recently received during the “Araw ng Pasasalamat sa mga Lingkod Bayani ng Aguinaldo” held in Galonogon village on Oct. 05, 2023.

At the national level, Aguinaldo earned recognition from Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources for its substantial contribution to protecting and advancing the fisheries sector. It is among the three towns in Cordillera that were conferred with “Parangal sa mga Kabalikat sa Pangisdaan: Gawad Pagkilala at Pasasalamat” during the 60th Fish Conservation Week celebration held on Sept. 22 in Pasay City.

Of all the municipalities in the region, Aguinaldo was cited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Cordillera as the most improved LGU on rehabilitation both of undernourished and wasted children for the 11th cycle (2021-2022) of the Supplementary Program.

The town was further named as the provincial winner of the 2023 Best Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) Award of Department of Science and Technology – Cordillera for recording remarkable progress as a CEST community and for exemplifying how science, technology, and innovation can be agents of sustainable growth and development.

In honor of its unwavering support which contributed to the realization of the programs and projects of Department of Education - Aguinaldo District for the School Year 2022-2023, the district handed over a plaque of recognition to the municipal leaders.

Such achievements, among others, are testament that a committed and supportive administration that creates an environment where people can perform to the best of their abilities yield progress.
