Aksyon Center of “Raffy Tulfo in Action” now open in La Trinidad, Benguet

Benguet, Philippines – Embattled people in Cordillera no longer need to spend time and money traveling to Quezon City, Manila, just to seek help from Senator Raffy Tulfo after his “Aksyon Center” has opened in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Known as the 'Action Man,' Tulfo is a broadcast journalist who gives straightforward, hard-hitting lines of questioning to people involved in abuse, dishonesty, and exploitation in the government and private sectors. Raffy always wanted to focus on helping the poor by battling the red tapes of society, claims the Raffy Tulfo in Action (RTIA) website.

The opening of RTIA in La Trinidad was initially scheduled for July 30 but was moved to August 06 due to the powerful earthquake that struck the region.

“Ang purpose nitong Aksyon Center ay para makatulong tayo sa tao. Tayo na po ang lalapit sa tao para magbigay serbisyo, para hindi na sila mahirapan na bumyahe pa nang pagkalayo-layo; ilang kilometro pa patungong Maynila para lamang idulog ang kanilang mga hinaing at problema. Ayaw na nating mahirapan pa ang mga naaapi at nangangailangan ng ating tulong,” said Tulfo during the opening ceremony.

The ribbon cutting of the center was officiated by his chief of staff Garreth Tungol and daughter Maricel Tulfo-Tungol along with project coordinator George Pumasen.

“We are so happy to cut the ribbon for the opening. Mas marami na po tayong matutulungan at mas magiging mabilis po ang pag aksyon sa mga problema ng ating mga kababayan!” his daughter expressed.

The “Aksyon Center” is located at 3K Building Swamp, Betag, La Trinidad, and is open from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
