Balbalan, Kalinga – The ingenious booth of Balbalan was adjudged as the “best booth” during the five-day Bodong Agro-Fair 2023.
The seven municipalities and the lone city of Kalinga province displayed their products at their own booths at the Capitol Hills, Bulanao, Tabuk City as means of promoting the agricultural as well as the tourism industry.
Judging of exhibitors started from the trade fair’s opening on February 13 up to its closing on Friday, February 17. Judges are from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources -Kalinga, and Provincial Veterinary Office - Kalinga namely, Delia Gonzalo, Nancy Oggang Aowat, Engr. Karen Regacho Tovera, Joyce Ducyogen, and Dr. Leo Damian, according to Office of the Provincial Agriculture.
The overall impact from the artistry, efficient use of space, and products displayed were among the basis of rating, among other criteria.
OPAG announced winning booths during the closing program held Friday.
Balbalan achieved the highest rating. Tabuk emerged runner-up, while Rizal’s entry landed third.
Mayor Almar Malannag took to social media to congratulate the efforts of his constituents since the preparation.
“Your efforts and creativeness since the preparation and your humble accommodation of our guests and Kalinga constituents has really paid off,” he stated.
“Truly, Balbalan gives you not just the best quality but also the finest and outstanding exhibit,” added the proud mayor.
The same town garnered the highest sales in said exhibition.
The amount of cash prize for the winners is yet to be announced. Other participating LGUs and private companies, meantime, received appreciation certificate.
