Pasil locks down on Brgy. Guinaang in case scores of contacts turn positive

Tabuk City, Kalinga―Guina-ang Punong Barangay Marcelino Agabas of Pasil issued Executive No. 08, series of 2020 imposing a total lockdown in Barangay Guina-ang as preventive measure while waiting for swab test results of isolated close contacts of a confirmed positive case and to contain possible spread of COVID-19 virus.


The order was approved by the MIATF of the said LGU and puts the barangay under strict no-entry no exit regulation from December 12-16.


According to the Barangay Official, a confirmed positive case of the COVID-19 was recorded in Barangay Guina-ang with significant number of contacts with the constituents, prompting the issuance of immediate response.


Punong Barangay Marcelino Agabas said in an interview that the lockdown was decided upon the advised of the authorities to ensure the containment of the virus while waiting for the test results of the traced contacts of the COVID-19 positive patient.


“In lockdown bassit tapno macontrol tayo kaspangarigan nu agpositive da dagitoy so awan pay ti rumwar ti barangay, dakami lang nga barangay officials, habang urayen ti swab results kuna mi,” he said.


Earlier, with the help of the police personnel and barangay officials, they were able to inform the constituents of the no entry and no exit while the barangay is under lockdown.

Food assistance for over 152 affected households was provided through the concerted efforts of Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pasil, Barangay LGU and private individuals.


As of today, there were 52 identified close contacts of the patient, direct and indirect, who are isolated in the barangay isolation units. Thus, swabbing of direct contacts is still on-going and shall be waiting for swab results for further action.


Meantime, entrance and exit and movements of the constituents were manned and monitored by the barangay officials and staffs imposing more stringent measures within the area.
