Tabuk City, Kalinga - Speaking before the attendees of the provincial government’s flag-raising ceremony on Monday, October 20, Kalinga Governor James S. Edduba reminded government employees that progress will only continue if everyone works together and stays proactive in their sworn duties.

In his talk during the ceremony, Edduba emphasized the importance of teamwork and accountability, urging provincial offices to be more active in attending meetings and following up on projects.

“The secret nu apay makaal-ala tayo ti pundo ket diay ag-attend tayo…attend summits…Masapol nga active tayo amin,” said Edduba, noting that participation in regional and national activities opens more opportunities for funding and partnerships.

On project implementation and monitoring, the governor added that projects under different agencies must be closely watched so that no funds are wasted and services reach or benefit the people on time.

“Sayang diay pondo nu haan mausar, isu nga masapol ifollow up,” he said.

The father of the province likewise encouraged department heads not to depend solely on national allocations, saying that offices should find ways to raise their own revenues and propose more development projects.

“We should also do something about revenue generation. Ta nu urayen tayo dayta pondo from the NTA, awan pagbanagan na,” he concluded.

After the ceremony, Edduba met the members of the Management Committee (Mancom) to discuss upcoming provincial activities, and current progress of ongoing infrastructure progress, among others.

Shortly after, he also administered the oath of office of newly appointed and promoted employees of the provincial government, reminding them to serve with honesty, dedication, and teamwork.
