BeGH dialysis facility inauguration held

Updated: May 15, 2021

Benguet, Philippines – Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) is set to open its dialysis facility upon completion of the necessary requirements for the Department of Health (DOH) to issue its License to Operate.

This will be the first government-owned dialysis facility in said province.

During the inauguration ceremony, DOH Undersecretary Roger Tong-an said the agency will be giving 10 more sets of hemodialysis machines, as a plan to expand the facility is being eyed by the provincial government.

Acting Chief of Hospital of BeGH Dr. Meliarazon Dulay said that once operational, the center could serve 27 patients in a day. Priority will be given to the indigent patients.

For its initial operation, 15 medical staff were hired to man the 10 sets of hemodialysis equipment that were sourced out from the DOH.

The provincial government, as recalled, allotted P5 million to rehabilitate the hospital’s Annex-A building in October last year to establish the center.

Meanwhile, Congressman Eric Go Yap in said event turned over a high-flow oxygen machine to BeGH for CoVID-19 patients with severe symptoms.
