Updated: Oct 24, 2022

Benguet, Philippines – The Arabica coffee of Agnep Heritage Farms in Benguet emerged as bronze awardee in the Signature Coffee Award: Brewer category of the Global Coffee Championship held on October 7 in South Korea.

The Liberica from Juan Santiago Agriculture Cooperative of Santa Maria, Laguna also won the Silver award in Signature Coffee Award: Latte category.

The coffees were showcased by Michael Harris Conlin, the 2019 Philippine National Barista Champion who represented the country in the competitions.

In each category, over 30 competitors were judged by 12 coffee experts from all over the world through a blind round of judging.

The Benguet Arabica of Agnep Heritage Farms, which was started by the Dado family in 2018, made it to the top awards.

“This win is dedicated to all the producers and farmers at Santa Maria Laguna and the Dado family of Agnep @benguetarabica farm. Thank you for trusting me with the processing of your precious coffees. Let’s be proud of #PhilippineCoffee and continue to highlight it on the world stage!” said Conlin in his social media post.

The Regional Director of the Department of Trade and Industry – Cordillera, Juliet Lucas also took to social media to congratulate the coffee farm ‘and all.’

“Ph coffees off to greater heights,” Lucas added.
