BFP tells public to keep fire station hotlines

Updated: Jun 24, 2021

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The public is advised to save the hotline numbers of the nearest fire stations in their area on their phones, for faster reporting and response should there be a fire.

Kalinga Provincial Fire Director, Superintendent Allan Eballar made this reminder after observing that some people would only be looking for the hotline numbers when there is already an ongoing fire, road crash, or drowning incidents.

He said that this is time-consuming and it can affect response efforts during an emergency.

He said that prompt reporting will prevent further damage or injury since upon receipt of the report or call, Eballar said, the BFP will immediately proceed to the area. He added that the on-duty personnel have seven minutes response time, which means that they should already be in the area within seven minutes.

“Kapag nag-report, alamin po kung anong klaseng sunog [grassfire, residential, motor vehicle and others] tapos ‘yung lugar mismo, ‘yung exact na location,” he said.
