Tabuk City, Kalinga – The body found at a quarry site in Lanna, Tabuk City on Wednesday was identified as the 59-year-old missing farmer in Bauko, Mountain Province.

 

The MDRRMO Mt. Province confirmed on Thursday morning, September 25, that the lifeless man discovered in Tabuk City past 4:00 p.m. on September 24 was identified as Nicolas Laguiwed Ol-oling.

Ol-Oling, 59 was reported missing after he was last seen at his pasture in Sitio Loccong, Otucan Sur, Bauko around 7:00 a.m. on September 22, during the height of Super Typhoon Nando. When he failed to return home, search and rescue teams along with the community members in Mountain Province were dispatched and searched the Chico River in Otucan Sur, Bauko, in Lagan, Sabangan, and in Gonogon, Bontoc.

 

As the search for the 59-year-old progressed, authorities in Tabuk City, Kalinga responded to a call about a cadaver discovered at a quarry site in Purok 2, Lanna, just beside a pile of firewood on Wednesday afternoon. This prompted the family and the authorities in Mountain Province to travel to Tabuk City to identify the body and confirmed it is Ol-Oling.

 

“The body found at a quarry site along the Chico River in Purok 2, Lanna, Tabuk City, Kalinga, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, is Mr. Nicolas Laguiwed Ol-oling, the reported missing person from Otucan, Bauko, Mountain Province,” The MDRRMO Mountain Province announced.
