Body of Cordilleran police killed in Northern Samar now home in Bontoc

Bontoc, Mt. Province – The remains of a Cordilleran police who was killed during an encounter with rebels in Northern Samar arrived at their home in Sitio Foyayeng, Bontoc Ili this February 10.


The body of Police Lieutenant Kenneth Tad-awan arrived in Bontoc around 6:00 in the morning, according to the Philippine National Police Mountain Province.

Foyer honors were rendered to him by the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office headed by Provincial Director Police Colonel Ruben Andiso before he was brought to their house in Foyayeng.


PLT Tad-awan was also bestowed the ‘Medalya ng Kadakilaan’ by PNP Chief, General Dionardo Carlos this February 9 at the NAIA Terminal 2.

In an earlier statement, the Philippine National Police has condemned and mourned the death of Tad-awan during the armed encounter with a communist terrorist group last February 7 in Barangay Look, Lapinig, Northern Samar, while they were on preventive patrol.


General Carlos assured that the PNP will immediately provide the needed financial support and other social benefits to the family of Tad-awan.

“Nabawasan man ang ating hanay ng isang magiting at tapat sa tungkulin na alagad ng batas, tayo sa Pambasang Pulisya ang magtutuloy ng kanilang laban kontra karahasan at insurhensya upang bigyan saysay ang buhay na inalay nila para sa kapayapaan ng ating bayan,” Carlos stated.
