Body of drowned boy in Bontoc finally found

Bontoc, Philippines - After three days of searching, the body of the 11-year old boy who was reported to have drowned in Kadchog last November 22 was finally found around 3:40pm today, floating in a river at Sitio Alawey, Tocucan, Bontoc.


The Bontoc Emergency Operations Center including the personnel of the Municipal Health Office headed by Dr. Diga Kay D. Gomez, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bontoc Municipal Police Station, members of the Bontoc Emergency Response Team, and other responders immediately went to verify the body right after receiving the report from the ground.


According to the page of Municipality of Bontoc, the body was ferried home by an LGU vehicle 4:15pm of November 24.


The remains of KYNEIHNER “Kayno” WAGGAY SAWI lies in state at his family's residence in Chakchakan, Bontoc Ili. In keeping with cultural practices and tradition, his remains was interred before daybreak today, November the 25th.


The community appeals thru said page to join in prayer for Kayno, “We ask everyone to pray for the eternal repose of his soul. Likewise, we offer our prayers and deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones. We also thank everyone who has helped and offered their condolences.”


“This tragic accident until the search and retrieval operations has once again shown the spirit of the Ifontok og-ogfu. The community coming together, aiding responders and generously sharing whatever they can help,” stated the page.
