Tabuk City, Kalinga – The cultural community of Barangay Bulo has recently applied the traditional ‘Ad adchang’ or Bayanihan practice to help and send their condolences to the bereaved families of those who died during the fatal vehicular accident that claimed 13 lives on Sunday, April 18.

Punong Barangay Francisco Agwayas relates that the barangay council convened and decided to collect any voluntary donation from the people of Bulo for the family of the victims.

“Nagtutungtung kami nga agkolekta tayo ta nu sino iti mangted, awaten tayo. Ket magsi maysa met a nangkuna nga ‘uray daytoy lang iti ited ko’. Sipupuso da met piman,” he recalled.

The entire barangay was willing to give their share that’s why, he said, they were immediately able to collect more than P32,000 and at least 19 cavans of 50-kilogram rice which they turned over to the families of the victims yesterday, April 20.

He added that they were also able to send their donations to the victims in Tadian, Mountain Province through their relatives who came to Tabuk City and went back home.

“Adda iti lugan ti kailyan da a nairana a napan ditoy, ustu met nga agawid da idi kalman, isu a napan mi impaw-it,” he said.

The Punong Barangay expressed his gratitude to his constituents for voluntarily and genuinely giving what they can.

“Pagyamanan tayo piman ah ta diay kasla ngay a nasakit iman iti puso. Uray anya piman iti mangkita idiay a napasamak ket nasakit iti panunot idiay piman, ta adda iti uppat iti pamilya iti natay, tallo, santo biglaan nga uubbing,” he said.

Agwayas further said that the barangay is still open for any donations should people still want to donate.

“Tattay adda manen nangihabol ditoy barangay hall iti tulong da manen. Ket kunak nga di bale ta adda kanu pay lang iti kayat na a mangted ta mabalin latta met nga ipan tayo,” he said.
