Balbalan, Kalinga – Business Permit Licensing Office in Babalan recently started the Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) for business owners who are operating in the municipality to register and renew their business permits from January 3-20, 2023.

BOSS program targets to streamline the procedures for the issuance of local business licenses, clearances, permits, certifications, or authorizations. It will also reduce the processing time to acquire the said issued documents.

With this, the Balbalan Local Government Unit is encouraging all entrepreneurs who have stalls in the Municipality to process their permit at the Municipal Licensing section in the Municipal Hall, Barangay Salegseg for them to operate legally.

Requirements needed to renew business permits, according to Maureen Sagban, Officer-In-Charge of BPLO-Balbalan, are barangay clearance, cedula, barangay business permit, DTI-Balbalan registration, police clearance, and sanitary clearance.

Process renewal of business permit

As to the procedure for renewing a business permit, Sagban explained that upon arriving at the registration area the applicants shall fill out the application form first provided by their office.

For faster transactions, other offices issuing required documents are present during the onsite registration which include the Department of Trade and Industry for Business Name Registration Certificate; Bureau of Internal Revenue for Certificate of Registration; Bureau of Fire and Protection for Fire Safety Inspection Certificate; Municipal Health office for Sanitary Permit and PNP-Balbalan for Police clearance.

After filling out, submit the form together with the complete documents needed for the assessment.

When documents are approved, they are told to pay the Mayor’s Permit fees for them to finally get the certificate.

To date, there are 41 business owners who renewed their business permits in the municipality.
