Cagayan Provincial Police Office hailed as Best Police Provincial Office in the Philippines

Tuguegarao, Cagayan – Recognized for its groundbreaking community-focused programs and innovative law enforcement strategy, the Cagayan Provincial Police Office (CPPO) has been hailed as the Best Police Provincial Office in the Philippines this 2025.


The CPPO, according to the PIA – Cagayan, was awarded for their strong community partnership, intensified anti-criminality and anti-drug campaign, and proactive disaster response and road safety programs.


Among CPPO’s notable initiatives that earned them the award include the Project TAPO (Tactical Accounting of Deployed Personnel and Real-time Observations), which uses CCTV cameras at checkpoints and police facilities to monitor and gather intelligence, enhancing crime prevention and resolution.

To recall, 31 cameras have been installed in partnership with local government units at various key locations throughout the province.


With the organization’s effort to improve, the CCPO trained Tourist Police and community education, which eventually led to the arrest of 1,434 wanted suspects, including high-profile offenders, greatly reducing crime in the province from July 2024 to August 2025.


PIA – Cagayan also cited that a total of 593 members of Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG) surrendered as a result of the anti-insurgency operations of the CPPO.


Among the confiscated items were firearms, explosives, and ammunition, enhancing security in key towns such as Alcala, Peñablanca, Baggao, and Buguey.


With the office’s recent feat, Provincial Director, Police Colonel Mardito Anguluan highlighted that unwavering dedication and teamwork across all ranks have been key to CPPO’s success, saying, “This award honours the hard work and unity of every Cagayano police officers committed to safeguarding our communities.”
