Tabuk City, Kalinga – With the filing of COC 4 days to deadline, the Commission on Election of Tabuk City urges aspiring candidates for the May 2022 election to file their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) before the ‘last hour’ or deadline which will be on October 8, 2022.

Other individuals who expressed running in the coming elections and incumbent officials still eligible for re-election have not yet filed their COC.

According to Election Officer, Atty. Reyman Solbita, this is to give aspirants ample time to complete the required documents and avoid the possibility that their COCs will not be accepted simply due to not being able to complete the documents during the deadline.

“Saan yu kuma urayen diay last hour or last day ta baka incomplete ta COC yu ket we do not accept incomplete COCs. Baka saan yun tu maihabol nga kompletoen nu umay kayo deadline,” Solbita stated.

The election officer added that the commission also needs time to check the Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) of candidates with Partylist, thus it is to their disadvantage if they submit their COCs during the last hour.

The day of nomination, he explained, should be earlier or on the same day with the day of acceptance.

During the first three days of filing, 2 candidates filed for the mayoralty in the city, 1 for vice-mayor, and 4 for councilor.

The commission expects more candidates to file their COC this 4th day until the last day.
